Moving boxes and a checklist on a table in a bright room, the toolkit of a well-planned long-distance move
Relocation

Moving to NOVA from Anywhere

Whether your employer is moving you, your corporate package has a deadline, or you simply decided Northern Virginia is where the next chapter happens, you don't have to be here to buy here. This guide covers remote home buying, corporate relocation support, and a moving plan that actually coordinates.

Buying Remotely

How Remote Buying Works

Buying a home you have not stood in front of is completely normal in the PCS and corporate relocation world. Here is how we make it safe, transparent, and surprisingly smooth.

1

Pre-approval before you browse

The single most important step for an out-of-state buyer. A lender pre-approval sets your number, and it tells NOVA sellers you are a serious, fundable buyer at a time when they cannot meet you in person.

2

Neighborhood research from anywhere

We start with your commute, schools, and lifestyle, then shortlist neighborhoods. I walk the areas on video, share real data, and let you experience the community before you ever fly in.

3

Virtual tours that do the work

Live FaceTime walkthroughs, detailed video tours, and 3D floor plans let you narrow the list to a handful of homes worth seeing in person, or buy entirely remotely with confidence.

4

Inspections and appraisals, coordinated

The local team takes it from here: inspectors, appraisers, and the title company all work to your schedule, with reports and updates delivered straight to you.

5

Remote closing

Virginia permits remote online notarization for many real estate documents, and your lender outlines the signing process early so there are no surprises on closing day.

Corporate Relocation

Corporate Moves, Coordinated End to End

Work within your relocation package

Corporate relocations often come with a strict calendar and specific benefits: temporary housing, a home sale program, and deadlines that do not flex. I build the home search around that frame.

Bridge housing and temporary living

Whether your employer books a corporate apartment or you need a furnished rental for a few months, we line it up before you arrive so the whole family lands somewhere comfortable.

Coordinate the move and the sale

Many corporate moves mean selling one home and buying another across the country. We handle both sides, including the logistics of movers, overlapping costs, and getting kids registered for school.

One point of contact

I run a tight process: your employer's relocation company, the lender, the title company, the movers, and the inspector all hear from one coordinator, so nothing falls between the cracks.

Long Distance Is My Specialty

I've guided military families and corporate transferees from every time zone into Northern Virginia homes. Same warm process, same straight answers, just a few thousand miles between us.

FAQs

Relocation Questions

Can I buy a home in Northern Virginia without visiting?

Yes. PCS families and corporate transferees buy from other states, overseas, and everywhere between. The core team is virtual tours, video walkthroughs, a local inspector, and remote online notarization at closing. Many of my clients visit once, or not at all.

How long does an out-of-state purchase take?

A typical timeline is 45 to 60 days from offer to closing, with much of the work happening before you arrive: pre-approval, touring, and negotiations. The fastest determiners are your lender's speed, the seller's timeline, and how quickly you commit to a neighborhood.

What if I need to sell my current home at the same time?

We plan both sides at once: pricing and listing the old home, preparing financing that allows a bridge or a contingent offer if needed, and scheduling closings so the proceeds and the keys line up. Each situation is different, so we map the options early.

Do you work with corporate relocation companies?

Yes. I work with employer relocation programs, their third-party administrators, and the forms and deadlines that come with them, while keeping you as the decision maker throughout. If your employer has a relocation policy, we start with its rules.
