Tips for Dog Owners in Loudoun County

Waggertail gets crowded on weekends. Arrive before 9 AM on Saturdays and Sundays for the best experience. Weekday mornings are typically quieter and more relaxed, with a loyal community of regulars.
Ball's Bluff parking fills up on nice days. The lot at 1 Battle Square is free but limited. Arrive early on spring and fall weekends. The park is closed after dark.
The W&OD Trail's Loudoun section is the most scenic. The 13-mile stretch from Ashburn to Purcellville passes through wine country with pastoral views you won't find on the Fairfax or Arlington sections. Plan a winery stop for after your walk.
Always bring water for your dog. While the dog parks have water stations, they can run dry in peak summer heat. Bring a collapsible bowl and at least one liter of water per dog for any outing over 30 minutes.
